Hello everyone, I’m Mel Morano from the Philippines. I was living undocumented here in Ireland for almost 15 years. On the 31st of January I applied for the Undocumented Scheme and I have great news!
On the 1st of April I got my positive letter from the Department of Justice saying I now have a legal status here in Ireland.
I am so happy. I have already booked my tickets to go to home to the Philippines to visit my son and my mum.
I want anyone who is undocumented and watching this today to know that it is safe to apply for this scheme, if you meet the criteria.
You need to be living undocumented here in Ireland for 4 years or 3 years if you have children.
Even if you have a deportation order or have any other application ongoing you can apply.
I know what it’s like to live undocumented. I know what it’s like to feel scared to come forward, to come out of the shadows. I can assure you that once you meet the criteria, it is safe to apply.
The scheme closes on 31st July of this year. Do not miss this life-changing opportunity!
